What is the SSC CPO exam?

The SSC CPO exam is also known as SSC Sub Inspector and is conducted by the SSC to recruit Sub Inspector in CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) and ASI (Assistant Sub Inspectors) in CISF (Central Industrial Security Forces) under the Ministry of Home Affairs for Government of India.

SSC CPO 2024 Selection Procedure

In the SSC CPO exam, we have four stages to recruit eligible candidates for the various posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs, CISFs, and so on. These three stages are as follows-

  • Stage-I

Stage one comprises paper 1 of the SSC CPO exam, constituting multiple choice questions of 200 marks.

  • Stage -II

The second stage is the physical endurance Test or PET, PST, and Medical test. The candidates have to fulfill the physical and medical eligibility criteria stated by the authority to clear the exam. The PET/PST examines the clinical and actual strength of the candidates.

SSC CPO 2024 Physical Endurance Test

Physical Endurance Test or PET examines the physical strength and capability of the candidate. The candidate must be physically fit to qualify for the test.PET test is for both male and female candidates, and the criteria for the same are as follows-

PET Criteria for Male Candidates –

  • Finish a 100-meter race in 16 seconds
  • Finish a 1.6 Km Race in 6.5 minutes
  • Requirement of Long Jump: 3.65 meters in 5 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 meters in 3 chances
  • Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 meters in 3 chances

PET Criteria For Female Candidates-

  • Finish a 100-meter race in 18 seconds
  • Finish an 800-meter race in 4 minutes
  • Requirement of Long Jump: 2.7 meters or 9 feet in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 meters or 3 feet in 3 chances

SSC CPO 2024 Medical Test

SSC CPO gives equal importance to academics and health. They need candidates who are intelligent and physically and medically fit. The medical officer of CPAF or any Medical officer/Assistant Surgeon examines the medical test. Both male and female candidates have to fulfill the medical requirements to clear the test. If a candidate is unfit, they can appeal to the medical board within 15 days. The criteria for the medical test is as follows-

  • Minimum Near Vision: N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye)
  • Minimum Distant Vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye)
