What is Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)?
KVS stands for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and consists of central government schools working under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It was introduced in 1965 with the name -Central Schools and later affiliated with CBSE, and the name changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.

This year KVS exam will take place online in CBT mode. The exam pattern has three parts-

KVS PRT Exam Pattern
KVS PRT exam is for all those candidates willing to teach primary classes. This year, the authority has released about 6414 Primary Teacher Vacancies. The exam will be in English and Hindi, and the candidate has to solve the paper in 2 hours 30 minutes( 180 minutes). PRT exam consists of the following sections-

- Completed class 12 with 50% marks and a year Diploma in Education( Special Education)
Eligibility Criteria for PGT Exam
- A Two year integrated Post Graduate( M.Sc./MA )Course from the Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
- A master’s degree with 50% marks in concerned subjects.
- B.ED degree from a recognized University for all the above PGT posts except Information & Technology.
- Should be proficient in Hindi and English.
- Should know computer applications.

KVS TGT exam is for those willing to teach classes from 6th to 10th.

- Must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET Paper-II) by CBSE.
- Should be Proficient in teaching in Hindi and English.

What to choose between KVS and NVS?- Comparison
- The number of NVS is less than KVS. The number of NVS stands for about 576, and Total KVS-1225.
- You can easily find KVS, but looking for NVS is a little difficult near your hometown.
- If we talk about working hours. In KVS you need to work for 6-7 hours, but NVS is 24 hours working institution.
- Kendriya Vidyalaya forms one of the largest chains of schools in India. It has three branches abroad, but NVS is only in India.
- The timing in KVS schools in different zones would be different. It might make you adjust in case of transfer.
- NVS schools are in different areas, but they have all the facilities.
- If spouses are in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Schools, they can ask for mutual transfer to one state. There is no such facility in NVS.
- KVS releases vaccines all over India, whereas NVS releases vaccines in two parts -North East Region and Other States.
