AFCAT Eligibility 2023
All the candidates are advised to check out the AFCAT eligibility 2023 as there can be consequences. Here are the reasons to look for the AFCAT eligibility 2023-
- Even if you get the admit card, it does not mean you have got the final approval from the Indian Air Force.
- The Air Force is strict and conducts verification of eligibility criteria concerning original documents.
- The verification process begins after a candidate qualifies for the written exam and Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Test.
- Indian Air Force has the right to reject the candidate at any stage of recruitment if they fail to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
AFCAT: Eligibility Criteria 2023
AFCAT Nationality
- Only citizens of India are eligible to apply for AFCAT 2023 exam.
AFCAT Marital Status
- Candidates under the age of 25 must not be married during the training period. If anyone under the age of 25 a divorcee or widow is not eligible.
- Candidates marrying during training will be expelled from the service and are liable to refund all the expenditure incurred on him by the government.
- Candidates above 25 years are eligible to apply but will be exempt from married accommodation. The candidate will not be allowed to live with their family outside the campus during the training period.
AFCAT Age Limit
The minimum age requirement for the one applying for the flying branch is given below. In the document verification step, the AFCAT scrutinizes each document submitted by a candidate and is quite strict about age restrictions.
- AFCAT Flying Branch
The minimum age to apply for an AFCAT flying branch is 20 years, and the maximum is 24.
- AFCAT Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical)
The minimum age for AFCAT ground duty (technical and non-technical) is 20, and the maximum is 26. ((The birth date of the candidate must be between 02 July 1999 to 01 July 2003)

AFCAT Eligibility – Flying Branch in Air Force
- The age of the candidate (men and women) must be between 20-24.
- Men and women are eligible to apply for AFCAT 2023 exam.
- All candidates below the age of 24 must be unmarried.

Educational Qualifications-
- The candidate must have at least 50% marks in math and physics at 10+2 level.
- A candidate must be a graduate (three-year course) in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
- Candidates from BE/B-tech, a four-year course from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent are also eligible to apply for the exam.
- Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
AFCAT Eligibility – Ground Duty (Technical)
- AFCAT Age limit: The candidate must be between 20 to 26 years.
- Gender– Men and Women.
- Marital Status –If a candidate is applying for ground duty, they should be unmarried.

Aeronautical Engineering Electronics
- 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics in 12th and have undergone any one of the following educational qualifications: – four-year graduation / integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering / Technology from a recognized university, OR
- have Cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India), OR
- have Cleared Section A and B examination of the Aeronautical Society of India
Aeronautical Engineering Mechanical
- 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics in 12th and have undergone any one of the following educational qualifications: -four-year graduation / integrated post-graduation qualifications in Engineering / Technology from a recognized university, OR
- have cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India), OR
- have cleared Section A and B examination of the Aeronautical Society of India
AFCAT Eligibility – Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
- AFCAT Age limit – 20 to 26 Years
- Gender – Men & Women.
- Marital Status – If a candidate is applying for ground duty(non-technical), they should be unmarried.
- AFCAT Education Qualification – Graduates or postgraduates can join as an officer in the given non-technical ground duty. The education qualification is also listed with the branch.
Administration Branch
- A three-year graduation degree with 60% marks, OR
- Have cleared section A and B examinations of the Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Logistic Branch
- A three-year graduation degree with 60% marks, OR
- have cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Accounts Branch
- Candidate should have a B. Com degree with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university or equivalent.
Education Branch
- Candidate must have passed 12th and post-graduation with 50% in any discipline, including integrated courses offering PG.
Meteorology Branch
- A candidate must be a post-postgraduate in any stream -Mathematics/Geography/ Computer Applications/Geo-physics/Ecology & Environment/ Oceanography/Environmental Biology/Statistics/Environmental Science/Agricultural Meteorology/Applied Physics.
- Candidate must have a minimum 50% marks aggregate in all subjects of Post graduation (math and physics must be studied at graduation level with at least 55% marks in both)
AFCAT Eligibility – Medical & Physical Standard
Height – Ground Duty (Technical/Non-technical)
- Male- 157.5cm.
- Female-152cm.
- A relaxation by 5cm for the people belonging to North- Eastern region of India, Kumaon, and Garhwal.
- A relaxation of 2cm for the candidates from Lakshadweep.
