Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC exam annually to recruit eligible personnel in various Government departments and Ministries of the country.

SSC GD 2024 Exam Date
As per the latest information, SSC will release the official notification for the SSC CD 2024 exam in November 2023, with the exam expected in February/March 2024. There are around 50,000 vacancies, and the application mode will be online. All the candidates must check the official website regularly for the official notification.
SSC GD Constable Exam 2024 -Selection Procedure
SSC GD Constable Exam 2024 exam has four stages to recruit candidates for the post of constables. These four stages are as follows-
- Stage I- Written Exam (CBT)
Candidates have to clear the written exam conducted online, which comprises 80 questions of 160 marks. Only those candidates who qualify for the written exam will be allowed to appear in the next stage.
- Stage II- Physical Standard Test/Physical Standard Test
Candidates qualifying for the written exam will appear in the next stage in the SSC GD Selection Process 2024, known as the Physical Standard Test (PST).
- Stage III- Medical Test or Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
The third stage of the selection procedure deals with the medical examination of the candidates, where candidates are examined by a doctor/ surgeon to look for any medical-related issues.
- Stage IV- Document Verification
The last stage is document verification. In this stage documents submitted by the candidates undergo verification by the officers for the final merit list.

SSC GD CONSTABLE EXAM PATTERN 2024
Knowing the exam pattern is the first step of your preparation, as you would know where to begin. As discussed earlier, the SSD GD constable exam 2024 has four stages-written exam, PET/PST, Medical examination, and Document verification. Here are the details of the three stages of the exam-
Written Exam
There is not much variation in the SSC CD constable exam 2024. The written exam consists of four sections carrying equal questions. The four sections are –

Every section has 20 questions carrying 40 marks, with a total of 160 marks. The duration of the written exam is 90 minutes. Candidates qualifying in the written exam will appear in the PST/PET.

Physical Eligibility Test
Physical Eligibility test determines examines the physical strength of the candidates. SSC is known for its strict norms and they recruit candidates who are physically and mentally fit. Here are the task that the candidate has to undergo for the PET.
