SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2023

SSC CHSL candidates pay attention to the exam pattern. The pattern for the tier 2 exam has changed. Previously Tier 2 exam used to take place in descriptive mode with the Tier 3 exam. But as per the latest pattern, there would be just two exams- Tier – and Tier 2.

CHSL Tier-1 Syllabus

SSC CHSL Tier 1 contains 100 questions with a minimum mark of 200. SSC CHSL Tier 1 is of 1 hour. SSC CHSL Tier I cover four areas, each with 25 questions with a score of 50. All the candidates should be aware of the furthest down-the-line changes to the SSC CHSL schedule.

It includes questions from both verbal and non-verbal types. There will be questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding, Drawing inferences, Emotional Intelligence, Numerical operations, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Classification, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Critical Thinking, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding, and de-coding,

English Language & Comprehension

Grammar, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, sentence structure, Spotting the Error, synonyms, antonyms, and their correct usage, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Vocabulary, Detecting misspelled words, Improvement of Sentences, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Antonyms, Spellings, Idioms & Phrases, word substitution, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

A passage testing your comprehension skills will also be given. You have to read the passage and answer the related questions. There would be two passages -one based on a story and the other on current affairs editorial or a report.

General Awareness

General Awareness tests your alertness toward your neighbor, environment, etc. It tests the knowledge of current events, day- day observation, and experience in their scientific aspect. The question might be from India and its neighboring countries, especially about History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy, and scientific research.

Computer Knowledge

Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, computer memory, Keyboard shortcuts, memory organization, back- up devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/ output devices

Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS word, MS Excel and PowerPoint, etc.

Working with the Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e-Banking.

Basics of networking and cyber security:

Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, virus, worms, Trojans, etc.), and preventive measures

Data Entry Operator

SSC CHSL has a post for a data entry operator, so the candidate applying for this post must know its requirements.

The candidate must have a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour. In the test, you have to type around 2000-2200 strokes in 15 minutes.
