SBI Clerk Vs IBPS Clerk – Selection Procedure
As an SBI or IBPS aspirant, one must be aware of the selection procedure for both exams. There is a slight difference between the selection procedure of SBI and IBPS. Selection Procedure-
There are three phases in both exams – Prelims, Main exam, and Language proficiency test.
- Prelims Exam: The prelim exams are common in both SBI and IBPS. The subjects in Prelims are Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. The exam constitutes 100 questions for 100 marks with a duration of 60 Minutes (1 hour). From this year onwards both SBI and IBPS have introduced 20 minutes sectional time limit for each of the three sections.
- Main Exam: The next phase is the Main exam of SBI and IBPS.This exam has four subjects/sections Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness. The exam constitutes 190 questions for 200 marks with a t duration of 160 minutes(2 hours and 40 minutes). The number of questions and time duration is similar in both the SBI clerk and IBPS clerk exam.
- Language Proficiency Test: The last phase is the language proficiency test in both SBI and IBPS clerk exams. The test takes place after the declaration of the result of the main exam. The test examines the candidate’s ability to read, write and speak the local language. Therefore, the candidate must be proficient in the local language of the state for which he/ she has applied.
