What is CTET?

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test and is a one-stage examination conducted offline for the teacher posts for Classes 1 to 8 in Central Government Schools such as NVS/KVS and other Schools. The exam is conducted by CBSE twice a year in English and Hindi. There are two papers – paper -1 for classes 1 to 5 and paper -2 for classes 6 to 8. There are different educational qualifications required for primary and upper primary classes. The details of the same will be discussed later in the article.

What is HTET?

HTET stands for Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) exam conducted by the Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH) for the recruitment of Primary Teachers, Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) in schools affiliated with the Haryana Government. There are different educational qualifications required for primary and upper primary classes. The details of the same will be discussed later in the article.

CTET Vs HTET

As discussed earlier, both are teaching eligibility tests to recruit candidates for teaching posts. CTET is a national eligibility test conducted by CBSE that is applicable for candidates all over the country except in Haryana (as per the latest notification).On the other hand, HTET is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education in Haryana. The HTET-qualified candidates are applicable for government teaching jobs in Haryana only.
