SSC GD BSF 2024 exam will take place in January 2024 (Expected). BSF exam 2024 will appoint candidates into Border Security Force (BSF) divisions along other CAPF & Sepoy divisions. There will be around 84,866 posts in the BSF exam 2024 with vacancies such as Sub Inspector, Constable (Group B & C), and Head Constable Posts.

PST- Physical Standard Test
The second stage in the BSF selection procedure is the Physical Standard Test. Now, in this test, you have to fulfill the physical requirements set by the authority. You will not play any sport or exercise but will be checked by the examiner whether you have fulfilled the physical criteria or not.
PET- Physical Efficiency Test
After successfully passing the PST round, you are eligible for the third stage- PET- Physical Efficiency. In this test, you will be doing the high jump and race. Although there is no PET for ex-servicemen, they are required to pass the medical examination.
Medical Examination
The fourth stage in the BSF selection procedure process is a medical examination. In this test, a doctor/ surgeon will examine your body. They will look for any signs of an underlying issue or medical problem. If a candidate is medically fit, they are eligible for the next round.
Document Verification
The last round is document verification. The candidate will appear to submit the required documents. These examiners will verify the identity of the candidates and make the final call. Here is the list of documents you need to submit –

How to apply online for the BSF 2024 Exam?
The BSF 2024 exam application form is online mode. Candidates appearing for the exam must check out the steps to apply for the BSF 2024 exam online.
There is no such announcement regarding the last day of online submission for BSF. Interested candidates meeting the required criteria must submit the online application. Only online applications are acceptable.
Here are the steps to apply online for the BSF 2024 exam
- Step 1: Go to the Border Security Force’s recruitment website.
- Step 2: Click on the Current BSF Recruitment Openings and then go for the BSF Constable Vacancies” link.
- Step 3: A new page will open on your screen where you will fill in the necessary information such as name, address, education, etc.
- Step 4: The next step is updating the required documents. Scan them and upload them. Candidates need to upload their signatures and photo.
- Step 5: Pay the fee and print out the application form.
BSF Exam Pattern
- As discussed earlier, BSF has a written test consisting of four subjects – General knowledge and General Awareness, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and Trade Awareness.
- Every section carries 25 questions of 25 marks, which makes 100 questions of 100 marks.
- The time to solve the question paper is 120 minutes or 2 hours.
- The question paper will be in English as well as Hindi.

Physical Standard Test
After qualifying BSF, one undergoes certain physical standards to qualify for PET. Here we have share the details of the physical standards required by different posts.
- Height required by the Male and female candidates belonging to General Category is 170 cm and 157cms respectively.
- Chest required for males without expansion is 80cms and with expansion is 85cms.
- Weight should in proportionate with height.
- Height required by the Male and female candidates belonging to ST and OBC is 165 cm and 155cms respectively.
- Chest required for males with expansion is 80cms and with expansion is 5cms.
- Height required by the Male and female candidates belonging to schedule tribe is 162.5 cms and 150cms respectively.
- Chest required for males with expansion is 78 cms and minimum expansion of 83cms.
Physical Efficiency Test
The third stage is physical Efficiency test where candidates undergoes different physical activities. Here are the details of the same –

Medical Examination

BSF Educational Qualification
BSF recruitment authority has fixed the qualifications for every post, and the candidates must fulfill those criteria. Here are the different educational qualifications –
- Sub Inspector (Master): Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary School from a recognized Board or University with a second-class master certificate issued from the central or state Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.
- Sub Inspector (Engine Driver): The candidate must have passed class 12 from a recognized Board or University and a First Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by the Central or State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.
- Sub Inspector (Workshop): The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a three-year diploma in Mechanical, Marine, or Automobile Engineering from a recognized Institution.
- Head Constable (Master): The candidate must have matriculation from a recognized board, and a Serang Certificate is essential for the HC post.
- Head Constable (Engine Driver): Candidate must have a matriculation certificate from a recognized board with a Possessing Class Engine Driver Certificate.
- Head Constable (Workshop): Candidate must possess a matriculation certificate from a recognized Board and Industrial Training Institute Diploma in respective trade (Electrician, Motor Mechanic / AC Technician Machinist/Carpentry/Electronics) and Plumbing from a recognized institution.
- Constable (Crew): Candidate must have a Matriculation certificate from a recognized board and One year of experience in the operation of a Boat below 265 HP. He must know how to swim in deep water without assistance.
- Head Constable (RO & RM): Candidate must have passed 12th from a recognized Board or University, Certification in Radio, Television, or Electronics.
